Your Presence Made our 50th Celebrations Special

In so many ways, organisations operate like human beings – go through the birth, gradually develop, face pains of growth and learning and then age. In our process of aging, there is always an opportunity for renewal; something that requires a conscious decision and effort.

MEM turning 50 this year has been a proud moment. Also, it offered an opportunity for renewal. In the last few years, we have reviewed the purpose and governance of our organisation, rebranded ourselves, reignited the passion for the ministry and have been developing deeper spiritual connections with each other and with God.

But we didn’t want to keep our renewal to ourselves! We needed to get it out! So we decided to celebrate this special year   with you.

February – Evening in Malta

During a large annual gathering that draws ministries and resource partners working in the Middle East, we had a special evening with about 40 partners. Our co-founder, Terence Ascott, and team members from our early years were there, including Georges Houssney and Ray Tallman with his wife.

May – North Africa Trip

10 supporters from the UK and Germany travelled to meet our local team and explore the sights. Jess, group leader, reflected:

“It was such an honour to show our work in action. A highlight was the day in MEM’s offices, sharing delicious food with the team and seeing the films and animations come to life. The local team’s passion and drive to share the gospel will stay with us forever.

June – Summer Celebration in London

Nearly 150 people gathered from all around the world for our main 50th event. Many of you shared feedback similar to this:

“I’ve been meaning to message you since your amazing event to say how much I loved it. It was the most inspirational day – and so impeccably organised. You must have worked so hard.

Through this event you gave £23,500 and 10 supporters committed to monthly giving. We are so thankful for your generosity.

September – USA Celebration

Chapelstreet Church in Chicago hosted our 50th event. Guests travelled from all across the country. It was a joy to welcome both long-time partners and new friends to hear from our leaders. Their stories encouraged our guests, with MEM’s ongoing work today and its future plans. One guest summed it up:

“Every part of the day was very interesting and valuable.

If you missed any of these events, not too late to come to our last one on the 27th November, in London. For more information visit Christmas Soirée Page.

Training Teams in Media Ministry

With only 0.2% of the population claiming to be Christians, there is much ministry needed in the unreached communities throughout... Turkey. So, when the opportunity came, we couldn’t turn it down! In April, we travelled to the country to train church members in essential media skills.
